Huangtongjianzi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Central Sichuan (Ya'an). The Huangtongjianzi Fm was named by Zhang Honggang, Li Chengyan et al. in 1983. The type locality is the Huangtongjianzi Village, Lushan County, Sichuan Province. It is the middle formation in Huangshuihe Gr.

Lithology and Thickness
In the type locality: Lower part of the formation is dominated by metamorphosed volcanic rock. It is composed of uralite anorthosite, epidote hornblende anorthosite, uralite chlorite schist, epidote-plagioclase-actinolite schist and metamorphosed basic to intermediate-acid volcanic rocks intercalated with carbonaceous quartz schist, talc schist or graphite schist, with a thickness from 200 to 533 m. Upper part is dominated by metamorphosed sedimentary clastic rock, such as dark-grey-green amphibolite, quartz-uralite schist, epidote hornblendite, amphibolite, chlorite schist and biotite actinolite schist, with carbonaceous quartzite schist, graphite-quartz schist, sericite quartz schist and minor carbonate rock. The thickness varies from 300 m to 1724 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The base conformably contacts onto the underlying Ganheba Fm.
Upper contact
It has a conformable contact with Guanfangshan Fm.
Regional extent
Central Sichuan (Ya'an). The main distribution area of the formation is in Huangtongjianzi, Baitongjianzi, Guanfangshan, Huangshuihe of Lushan County, Mailin of Dayi County, and Baishuihe of Pengxian County, Sichuan Province.
